Dear Friends of the Ann Arbor Community Center:

Remember this date September 1, 2010. We really need your help. We have submitted our idea to the Pepsi Refresh Grant program and our idea has been accepted and will be available on their site for votes beginning September 1, 2010. We need YOU to join in our effort to win $250,000.00 for our plan. The idea with the most votes wins. The plan is to complete the 1st Phase renovation for our 7.5 acre camp facility located in Waterloo Township, MI on Clear Lake. Please see the attached Press Release and Information sheet. What can you do?

Tell all of your e-mail list that you want them to vote everyday starting September 1, 2010 until September 30, 2010!

Send them the link www.refresheverything.com/aacc.

Explain to them that they will have to register the first time - that registration is a Pepsi control and that all people that vote must be 13 and up.

Tell them you care about the AACC and that you want not only Ann Arbor but people from all over the nation to vote for this idea.

Why should they support this?

Tell them too that the lodge will be used to support Domestic Violence Survivors and their families, that children will experience camping opportunities and that you know it is a good cause.

The renovated camp will also support other AACC programming and will be made available for both public and private use.

Send to any organization that you participate in. Every person that you know in any state. We need thousands of votes to win. Remember only 2 candidates are in this category and we are one of them! It is up to all of us to make this happen!!

PLEASE PROMOTE OUR IDEA:

Tell family, friends, co-workers and

VOTE everyday in September! Thank you!

Overview

The plan is to complete the 1st Phase renovation, of our 7.5 acre, camp facility—located in Waterloo Township, MI on Clear Lake. Purchased in 1972, the camp served as a summer destination for area youth. Due to lack of funding and rising maintenance/upkeep costs, the camp was closed in 2000. Most of the buildings are in disrepair. The PEPSI REFRESH grant will be used to initiate the camp renovation, by constructing a new 3,100 square foot lodge.

The Michigan State Police reported, there were 73,927 Domestic Violence offenses and 101,388 Domestic Violence victims in 2007. The new lodge will serve as a Retreat Facility for Domestic Violence Survivors.

Construction Schedule:
Phase 1 - Lodge ; Phase 2 - Bath House; and Phase 3 - Cabins.

The renovated camp will also support other AACC programming and will be made available for public & private use.
